Ad Hoc Taxation/Assessment Advisory Committee:

Established by the Town Council on November 8, 2010, the Ad Hoc Taxation /Assessment Advisory Committee will provide advice to the Town Council, Town Manager and the Tax Assessor regarding taxation and assessment issues.

The five-member advisory board, in accordance with the Consent Order and Settlement Agreement adopted by the Town Council, is charged with providing input and advice regarding the following:

  • The request for proposals that would be sent out for appraisal services,
  • The selection of the firm,
  • The methodology including the development of revaluation standards for the Town that would be utilized to conduct the revaluation and assist the Town Council in connection with its general supervisory responsibility regarding the process and procedures for assessments as well as the progress of valuations going forward
  • The process involving the Assessment Board of Review and matters related to assessment and taxation generally.
