The Human Resource Department of the Town of Barrington is responsible for all aspects of Personnel Management. Our goal is to provide excellent service to our diverse municipal workforce, departments and the general public. We accomplish this by providing managers with employment services, consultative advice, policy and procedural guidelines, and employee motivation and development tools. For our employees, the HR department provides employee advocacy, benefit issue resolution, equal employment opportunity assurance and skill enhancement training. Overall we strive for the highest standards in providing quality service and creating a work environment that attracts, retains, and rewards talented and motivated people.

Barrington Public Library

Custodian, Part-Time

Barrington Public Library. 12-19 hrs/wk with potential for more. May include night and weekend hours, $11.26/hr. Bathrooms, floors, vacuuming, set-up tables/chairs. Some heavy lifting and snow shoveling. Applications available at the library’s Circulation Desk. Please apply in person at the reference desk.

Camp Counselors Needed for 6 Week Day Camp

Must be able to work all six weeks - Monday to Friday 8:30am to 3:30 pm / June 25 to August 3

The Barrington Public Works department has an opening for a full time, safety minded Laborer (first shift). Incumbent performs a variety of general duties in regards to the daily operations of the Town. Duties include: plowing, landscape, maintenance, carpentry, field maintenance, etc. Prior experience in a similar capacity preferred. Candidates must be mechanically inclined and be familiar with such equipment.

Must have or be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months of hire
Must have a valid drivers license
Must pass a physical and drug test.
Must be flexible to work during storms or emergencies.
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Salary $40,075 to start, $41,449 upon completing probation.
