The Barrington Fire Department is seeking qualified applicants for the position of firefighter. The individual should demonstrate good moral character and judgement, be able to handle high pressure situations, and demonstrate good problem-solving and leadership skills.
We service over 16,000 residents and a small business district in town. With over 19 miles of coastline, Barrington is known as a seaside community with a beautiful town beach and five marinas.
Salary: $43,990.97 with regular step increases to $61,261.36.

The Town of Barrington has an opening for a part time 9-passenger van driver with a good driving record. Responsibilities include driving residents to and from the Senior Center or to specific locations including Shaws, various banks and pharmacies. Assisting passengers with boarding and exiting the bus and operating the handicap ramp as necessary.
Candidate must also be willing to help in the kitchen as needed. Kitchen work includes setting up/breaking down tables, serving food, and cleanup.
Candidates must have experience driving a bus or van and be cheerful, patient and prompt. Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 30 pounds. Must have a strong sense of responsibility.

Two years of college study that shall include at least successful completion of 60 credits AND/OR
Two years of honorable active military service AND/OR four (4) years of honorable Reserve or National Guard Service.
Must possess a valid drivers license
Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
Must be a United States citizen
Must possess a High School Diploma or GED
