The Town Planner's office, located on the second floor at Town Hall, oversees a wide range of functions. These include implementation of the Comprehensive Plan, preparation of grant applications, review and processing of Planning Board applications, preparation of bid documents, project management, and administration of Community Development Block Grant funds received by the Town (which pays for a number of initiatives including the Home Repair Program).

This office works on a wide variety of projects, including the following: Safe Routes to Schools infrastructure improvements at Hampden Meadows School, Primrose Hill School and the Middle School (grants totaling more than $500,000), development of plans for improvements at Town Beach and a master plan for Latham Park, and the development of a Strategic Plan for energy utilizing Stimulus Funding available through the State.

Secretary to Planning & Zoning Boards/Assistant to Building Inspector Valerie Carroll has served in this position since 2005 at Town Hall. She brings experience and skills with technology to the Town Hall. Office Location: Planning/Zoning/Building office, second floor, Town Hall.
